Work in conjunction with the Coaching Director, In-house Vice President and Coaches to ensure that all girls have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the game in an enjoyable environment.
Take registration information and organize the following:
Number of teams based on number of girls registered
Find parent volunteers to coach and assistant for each team
Work with In-house Vice President and Coaching Director to ensure that team selections are as fair and equitable as possible.
Help facilitate player evaluation clinic if this format is selected.
Organize a coach’s draft to place the players on teams if evaluations are performed.
Work with Scheduling Director or In-House Vice President to create a group practices, team practices and game schedule for the teams based on facilities. They will try to schedule each grade teams on a consistent night of the week if facilities are available.
Help the Equipment Manager in getting coaching bags, jerseys, and trophies to the Coaches. Ensure return of equipment at the end of the year.
Work with the Scheduling Director to address any facility issues (i.e. drinks in gym etc.) that the Community Supervisor brings up.
Responsible to ensure that Coaches are notified of cancelled or delayed practices. The Coaches will then notify the teams.
Work with the Scheduling Director and In-house Vice President to work thru any details on how the end of season jamboree will be conducted.
Conduit for opportunities or concerns that may occur within the league. The Commissioner will work with the In-house Vice President or the EPGBA Executive Board to address the issue.
Gather game results, for grades that keep score, and e-mail them to the Web Administrator for posting.
Coaches/Assistant Coaches
Ensure that all girls on their team have an enjoyable and worthwhile experience in our program
Attend the coach’s clinics and training offered by the association
Work with all girls on team to develop the fundamental skills of the game as defined in the Eden Prairie
Follow and grade level development drills in practices as outlined by the EPGBA Coaching Director
Follow the EPGBA code of conduct
Set up the courts (basket height) for practice or games. Draft a parent to keep the clock and score (if kept in that grade level)
Contact the player’s parents if there is a cancelation of practice or game by the association
